To be or not to be
In Hamlet there is a very famous speech called " to be or not to be" in which Hamlet talks about whether or not he should live or die and it is also sort of a rant about how man doesn't live up to their full potential. I had to memorize this speech in my AP literature class and the reason why i chose this speech is because i felt like i related to it in a way because I do believe that humans never live up to their full potential. I can also relate to Hamlet in wanting to die most days but I guess that is just a teenager in high school kinda thing lol. This speech was written beautifully and since it is Shakespeare it makes the reader think and look deeper into the meaning of it, such as most people will only understand it as hamlet wanting to kill himself but if you look deeper into it you will see hamlet wanting man to live up to their full potential and makes things happen and not always taking the easy way out. For example when Claudius killed old king Hamlet, Hamlets father just so he could be rich and royal and marry the queen, when he could of made something of himself. Those are the main reasons why I chose " to be or not to be" as the speech I wanted to memorize.
